Baby's First Game

When Mila was about seven weeks old, Ryan and I took her to her first baseball game. While we would have much rather taken her to Miller Park to see the Brewers, we actually had a great night at the Trop watching the Rays lose, singing along to OAR (who played at the end of the game) and trying out our new Moby Wrap.

Not bad seats, considering they were free!

Second & Third Months

Mila is sprouting so quickly, its hard to imagine that seven pound baby we came home from the hospital with. She is laughing, babbling, saying "mamamama" in endless loops, pushing herself up, almost sitting by herself and even trying to stand--leave it to my child to want to skip crawling and go directly to standing. I'm anxious for her to grow and see the person she'll become, but I'm trying to cherish as much of this young age as I can.

Taking these pictures each week is such a fun way to capture her progress. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Baby Face Portraits

The hospital where Mila was born, Bay Front Baby Place, has a contract with Baby Face Portraits. This company takes complimentary newborn photos before a family leaves with their baby. While the photo shoot is free, there is a fee for online access to the photos or to have prints made. Ryan and I paid to have online access to the photos and gave the company permission to make any prints requested by the family. Below you will find all of the pictures provided to us on our online profile. If you need any information on contacting this company or if you would like the password to our profile on their website, just let me know.

Our First Month

New parents are often told that the first year moves along at rates that rival the speed of sound and before they know it, their child has doubled in size. This has inspired me to embark on a new progression project, not on me losing pregnancy weight--although, that might be good for some laughs--but on the progression of Mila's growth. I have been taking weekly photos of Mila so we can see just when she goes from a newborn, to an infant, to a baby!

Garnet and Gold Nursery Tour

Ryan and I were faced with the daunting task of decorating a nursery for a baby who's gender we did not know until she was born. I had the "crazy" idea to focus on a Florida State University themed nursery. Of course, when you say this to people they imagine Christian Ponder fat heads and the FSU logo plastered across the wall. This is NOT what I wanted; I wanted to create a tasteful nursery inspired by our alma mater. I decided to focus on the school colors, garnet and gold. After several trips to Home Depot, a sale at the Garnet & Gold store (all the way in Tallahassee) and some serious elbow grease from my dad and Ryan, the nursery I imagined came to life! Although, we're still waiting on the plush appaloosa rocking horse that my dad promised to make. Fun fact for those of you who don't know: FSU's mascot is Chief Osceola riding his horse, Renegade. Renegade is an appaloosa.
